FAQ – Ruff Ride

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

  • What is the Ruff Ride 24 Hour Team Spin Relay?
    • Ruff Ride is a challenging spin event benefiting Team Foster. We will take over Commerce Square in Philadelphia and each team take turn keeping their bike spinning. Your team members will rotate on their designated BPM Fitness bike and ride relay style taking turns for designated time slots. To keep things spicy, BPM instructors will teaching spin classes for our riders at pre-set times.
  • How long do I have to ride?
    • There is no minimum ride time per ride but there will be prizes will be awarded to the Ruff Ride MVP.
    • Ruff Ride starts at 11:00am, May 31 and ends 11:a0am, June 1.
  • How do I register?
    • To start or join a team, register here. There is $35 per person registration fee for each individual who joins the team. This fee is in separate from the team fundraising requirement.
  • When is the last day to register?
    • This event will sell out. Online registration online ends no later than May 30, 2018. However, teams can add participants on the day of the event.
  • Is there a fundraising requirement?
    • Each team has a minimum fundraising goal of $1,000.
  • Are registration fees included in the fundraising minimum?
    • No, the $35 registration fee for participants is not included in the fundraising minimum.
  • How can I raise funds for Ruff Ride?
    • You will have your own team and individual fundraising page to help support your efforts.
  • Can I volunteer for Ruff Ride?
    • Yes! We are looking for volunteers to assist at the event. Register here and select “Volunteer” to help out.
  • Is there a limit to how many people can be on a team?
    • No. Once the team is established you can set up a schedule for your team to spin throughout the 24 hours.
  • How do I make a donation to an individual or team?
  • Where can I park?
    • Parking is available for only $5 for all riders and volunteers at Commerce Square. The entrance is on 21st Street, North of Market. You will be provided a parking voucher at the event that you can use when exiting.
  • What should I wear?
    • We encourage all participants to wear comfortable, active clothing and shoes. BPM Fitness will be supplying indoor cycling shoes specific for the BPM bikes. Please enter your shoe size when registering. Bike shorts are encouraged. Be mindful of the weather – this is an outdoor event. Riders will have a tent for shelter, but temps will be much cooler at night and may be very warm during the day.
  • Do I have to stay the entire twenty four hours if I am cycling with a team?
    • No, you can ride and leave or you can stay. We encourage riders to stay and cheer on their teammates!
  • Will there be food and drink at the event?
    • Yes, there will be drinks and snacks for all registered participants and volunteers at the event.
