Julianne Herbster Leighton
Julie comes to Team Foster with over 25 years of experience as a marketing leader, helping Fortune 500 companies create growth through digital transformation. She was part of the executive leadership team to build LendingTree and take the company public in 2000. She also created one of the first healthcare exchange networks after the Affordable Care Act was passed, and helped Comcast and Verizon adjust to the wireless shift as customers unplugged. Most recently, Julie served as the head of Consumer Marketing and Patient Centricity for AstraZeneca’s cardiovascular and diabetes portfolios – acting as the U.S. “voice of the patient” on global workstreams aimed at creating better health outcomes.
In addition to Julie’s career contributions, she’s also held several board positions in both the “for profit” biotechnology space, as well as non-profit organizations that she’s passionate about. Since 2015, Julie has actively brought in corporate donors and revamped marketing and fundraising for Gemma Services, an organization serving abused and traumatized children across Pennsylvania. Julie’s pro-bono marketing support for the American Red Cross in 2017 garnered Ben Franklin Awards for Best Integrated Marketing Campaign and Best of Show. She’s also been a significant contributor to the Philadelphia Ad Club Kids initiative, a program aimed at teaching marketing and advertising skills to inner city teens as a career alternative.
Julie is a graduate of Penn State University and the mother of two teenage children, the youngest of which is interested in serving in the military. She’s honored to join the board of Team Foster and eager to bring her experience and energy to advancing the Team Foster mission, and give back to our military veterans.
Mike Cashe
Mike comes to Team Foster with 19 years of experience as a Software Engineer. He currently serves as a Software Engineering Associate Manager at Lockheed Martin Rotary Mission Systems in Valley Forge, PA.
Mike has been a significant contributor to various community activities at Lockheed Martin and is a 2019 recipient of the Presidents Service Award for his involvement in the Philadelphia Science Festival, Young Minds at Work, and Junior Achievement, to name a few. He also served as an emcee for Lockheed’s CodeQuest event which brings together high school kids in the region and challenges them to compete against one another by solving tough coding problems. Mike also volunteered as a puppy raiser for Susquehanna Service Dogs in their first year of having raisers in the Philadelphia area. While Mike has never served in the military, his career at Lockheed Martin has afforded him the privilege of often working closely with members of our Armed Forces. These experiences have given Mike a great appreciation for the service and sacrifice of our military personnel. As a result, Mike has been naturally drawn to Team Foster and our mission to serve our military veteran community.
Mike received his Master’s degree in Management Information Science from Penn State and Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Cheyney University
